You can integrate Freedompro modules into Home Assistant through Matter. The procedure changes depending on whether the module is already paired with Freedompro Home or is new and ready for first-time setup.
Before you start
- Install and configure the Matter integration in Home Assistant.
- Update Home Assistant and the Companion App.
- Preferably configure the module in Freedompro Home.
- Enable Bluetooth on the phone and check local connectivity.
Recommended method: already paired device
- Open Freedompro Home and select the module.
- From the settings, start pairing with another service.
- Copy the temporary Matter code.
- Open the Home Assistant Companion App.
- Go to Settings > Devices & Services.
- Open the Matter integration or choose to add a Matter device.
- Indicate that the device is already in use in another ecosystem.
- Enter the temporary code and complete the procedure.
New or reset device
Important: Initial setup in Freedompro Home is recommended for calibration, consumption, inputs, and other device-specific functions. Use this procedure only if you want to commission the module directly in Home Assistant.
- Put the module in pairing mode.
- Open the Home Assistant Companion App.
- Go to Settings > Devices & Services.
- Add a new Matter device.
- Scan the QR code.
- Wait for completion and assign area and name.
If Home Assistant does not add the module
- Check that the Matter integration is active and working.
- Use the Companion App on the phone, which is required for the commissioning phase.
- Check Bluetooth, local network, and permissions.
- Generate a new temporary code.
- If the module is already paired, do not use the original QR code unless you reset it first.
Expected result
The module will appear among the Matter devices in Home Assistant. The available entities depend on the device type and on the functions exposed through Matter.
Consumption and power
Through Matter, Home Assistant receives instantaneous power in W from light and outlet modules.
- Shutters do not expose consumption data through Matter.
- Accumulated energy in kWh is not exposed through Matter.
- Voltage, current, apparent power, and power factor are not exposed.
