How to connect a Freedompro module to Apple Home

Add a Freedompro Matter module to Apple Home with a sharing code or QR code and complete room assignment and setup.

Add a Freedompro module to Apple Home through Matter. If the module is already configured in Freedompro Home or another ecosystem, use a temporary sharing code. If it is new or reset, you can scan the original QR code.

Before you start

  • Use an updated iPhone or iPad.
  • Enable Bluetooth and connect to the correct Wi-Fi network.
  • Preferably configure the module in Freedompro Home.

Recommended method: module already configured

  1. Open Freedompro Home and select the module.
  2. Open the settings and generate a Matter code for another service.
  3. Copy the temporary code.
  4. Open the Home app.
  5. Tap + and then Add Accessory.
  6. Open the other available options and choose the module, or select manual code entry.
  7. Enter the generated code.
  8. Assign name and room and complete the configuration.

New or reset module: QR code

Important: The original QR code is intended for initial setup or after a reset. To share a device that is already paired, use the code generated by the ecosystem that already controls it.

  1. Open Home and tap + > Add Accessory.
  2. Scan the Matter QR code.
  3. Allow adding it to the network, if requested.
  4. Assign room, name, and icon.
  5. Tap Done.

If the accessory is not added

  • Check that Bluetooth is enabled.
  • Bring the iPhone or iPad closer to the module.
  • Generate a new temporary code if the device is already paired.
  • Make sure you selected the correct Apple Home.
  • Update iOS or iPadOS and try again.

Expected result

Supported accessories will appear in the Home app and can be controlled through the app, Siri, and Apple automations.
