You can add a Freedompro module to Amazon Alexa through Matter. If the module is already configured in Freedompro Home or another ecosystem, generate a new pairing code. If it is new or just reset, you can use the original QR code.
Before you start
- Preferably configure the module in Freedompro Home before adding it to Alexa.
- Update the Freedompro Home and Amazon Alexa apps.
- Make sure the module is online and that Alexa has a compatible Matter controller.
- Keep the phone close to the module during the procedure.
Recommended method: module already configured
- Open Freedompro Home and select the module.
- Open the module settings and start pairing with another service.
- Copy the generated temporary Matter code.
- Open the Amazon Alexa app.
- Tap + and choose to add a device.
- Select Matter or Other > Matter, depending on the app version.
- Choose the option to enter a numeric code.
- Paste the generated code and complete the guided procedure.
New or reset module: QR code
Important: Use the original QR code only when the module is new or has been properly reset. Direct initial pairing with Alexa may not make all product-specific functions configurable in Freedompro Home available in Alexa.
- Put the module in pairing mode.
- Open Amazon Alexa and add a new Matter device.
- Scan the QR code on the module or on the label in the box.
- Follow the instructions to assign name and room.
If Alexa cannot find the module
- Generate a new temporary code: Matter sharing codes have limited validity.
- Check that the module is online and close to the phone.
- Make sure Bluetooth and local network are active.
- Check that the Alexa device used as controller supports Matter.
- If the QR code appears already used, use the sharing function from the ecosystem already controlling the module.
Expected result
The module and compatible accessories will appear in the Alexa app and can be controlled by app, routines, and voice, within the limits of the functions supported by Alexa.
