How to choose and set up a Freedompro module for a compatible outlet or electrical load.

OL modules control outlets and on/off loads while keeping the existing outlet.

In brief: For one outlet consider OL0801-E; for two circuits consider OL0602-E, after checking the current rating.

Load checks

  • Compatible maximum current.
  • Permitted load type.
  • Safe behavior after power returns.
  • No special requirements from the appliance manufacturer.
  • Adequate box space and heat dissipation.

Setup

  1. Add the module.
  2. Configure the channel as an outlet.
  3. Assign a name and room.
  4. Set the default state if available.
  5. Configure Auto Off or a schedule if needed.
  6. Test the load under control.

Not all appliances should be automatically switched off and back on. Always check the manual of the connected load.
