The original QR code and the temporary Matter code are not interchangeable in every situation.
In short: Use the original QR code for a new or reset module; use a new temporary code when the module is already paired.
| Situation | Code to use |
|---|---|
| New or reset module | Original product QR code |
| Module already paired with Freedompro Home or another ecosystem | New temporary Matter code generated by the app controlling it |
If “Invalid QR code” appears
- Make sure you scanned the QR code of the correct module.
- Check that the LED is in the required mode.
- Select correctly whether it is new or already paired.
- Clean the camera and light the label well.
- Do not reuse an expired temporary code.
If Matter pairing fails
- Generate a new temporary code.
- Keep the smartphone and module on the same local network.
- Check Bluetooth and the permissions required by the app.
- Repeat the procedure from the selected ecosystem app.
- Avoid resetting as long as the module continues to work in the apps already connected.
If you no longer have access to the original QR code, do not use codes from other devices. Contact support with the model and serial number.
Lost or damaged QR code
Freedompro support can verify the product and, once the request is validated, regenerate the code based on the serial number and proof of purchase. The module does not necessarily need to still be paired with an app.
Sensitive data: send the serial number, proof of purchase, and received code only through a private support channel. Do not publish them in forums, social media, reviews, or screenshots.
If you no longer have the QR code, the spare label, or any other reference, contact support anyway and describe the case: you will be asked for the information needed to verify the product.
