Freedompro Home, Matter and other ecosystems: what each one controls

Understand which functions to configure in Freedompro Home and which ones to control from Apple Home, Google Home, Alexa or Home Assistant.

Freedompro Home and external apps do not always perform the same role. Using the correct app makes installation and support easier.

In short: First configure the module-specific functions in Freedompro Home; then use Matter to add the device to the ecosystems you want.

Environment Main functions
Freedompro Home Pairing, name, room, physical inputs, calibration, Auto Off, notifications, Habits, and available device-specific functions
Matter Sharing the certified device with compatible ecosystems
Apple Home / Google Home / Alexa Daily control, voice, rooms, and functions offered by the platform
Home Assistant Matter integration, entities, and logic available in the platform
Easykon Integration of BTicino MyHome SCS or KNX systems; it is not a Matter product

Recommended order

  1. Install and power the module correctly.
  2. Add it to Freedompro Home.
  3. Configure channels, buttons, calibration, and device-specific functions.
  4. Open Pairing with other services.
  5. Generate a new temporary Matter code.
  6. Enter the code in the ecosystem you want to add.

The functions visible in an external app depend on the device category and what that platform exposes.

Energy data via Matter

Light and outlet modules expose only instantaneous power in W through Matter. Shutter modules do not expose energy data via Matter.

Accumulated energy in kWh remains available in Freedompro Home but is not transmitted through Matter.
