Freedompro module status LED: colors and meaning

Find out what the blue, magenta, yellow, green and red LEDs on Freedompro modules indicate and how to resolve network issues.

The LED indicates the status of the Freedompro module. Its color and flashing pattern help you understand whether the device is ready, online, pairing, or experiencing a network issue.

Solid blue Module configured and operating.
Flashing blue Pairing mode: the module is ready to be added.
Flashing magenta The module cannot connect to the Wi-Fi network.
Solid magenta The module is connected to the local network but cannot reach the Internet.
Flashing yellow Matter pairing window open or association with another ecosystem in progress.
Flashing green Identify function active.
Solid red Startup, reset, or a condition that requires checking the device.

Solid blue

The module is powered, configured, and normally operating. Test control from the app and from the physical switch.

Flashing blue

The module is ready for pairing. Open Freedompro Home and start adding a new module.

Flashing magenta

  • Check that the 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network is active.
  • Verify the network name and password.
  • Check coverage and distance from the access point.
  • Avoid guest networks with client isolation.
  • Restart the router and module before performing a reset.

Solid magenta

  • Check that the router has Internet access.
  • Verify DNS, firewall, and access point settings.
  • Test other devices on the same network.
  • Restart the network and wait for reconnection.

Flashing yellow

The module is handling a Matter procedure, such as sharing with another ecosystem. Complete the procedure in the app and wait for the LED to return to its normal state.

Flashing green

The module has been identified by the app. The flashing lasts a few seconds and is used to physically recognize the correct device.

Solid red

  • Wait for startup to complete.
  • Check power supply and wiring.
  • If the LED stays red, restart the module.
  • Reset only if indicated by the support procedure.

When to contact support

Request support if the LED stays red, the module does not respond to physical controls, or it does not change state after power and network checks. Provide the model, serial number, LED color, and the checks already performed.

Red LED during reset

During the factory reset, the LED turns red after about 10 seconds. Release the button at that moment.

If you keep pressing for more than 30 seconds, the reset is canceled and the LED returns to the previous state.

Brightness can be adjusted from the module settings.

You can choose 0%, 25%, 50%, 75%, or 100%. At 0%, the LED is turned off.
