How to reset a Freedompro module

Procedure for resetting a Freedompro module to factory settings and pairing it again with the app.

Reset restores the Freedompro module to factory settings. Use it only when you need to configure it from scratch or when network and pairing checks have not solved the issue.

In short: press and hold Setup for about 10 seconds and release it when the LED turns red.

Before resetting

  • Remove the module from connected apps and ecosystems, when possible.
  • Make sure you still have the original QR code.
  • Note the name, room, control type, and settings.
  • Check power, network, and LED first.

How to reset

  1. Keep the module powered.
  2. Locate the Setup button.
  3. Press and hold the button for about 10 seconds.
  4. When the LED turns red, release the button immediately.
  5. Wait for the reset to complete.
  6. The LED starts flashing blue again when the module is ready for a new pairing.

Do not keep holding the button: if the press exceeds 30 seconds, the reset command is ignored and the LED returns to the state it had before the press.

How to pair it again

  1. Open Freedompro Home.
  2. Tap Add module.
  3. Select Smart Modules.
  4. Choose No, it's new.
  5. Scan the original QR code.
  6. Complete setup and firmware update.

Expected result

The module will be cleared of previous settings and ready to be added again.
