How to pair a Freedompro module with the Freedompro Home app

Procedure for adding a Freedompro module that is new, reset or already associated with another Matter ecosystem.

Pair the Freedompro module with Freedompro Home before connecting it to other Matter ecosystems. This lets you correctly configure accessories, physical inputs, consumption, Auto Off, and product-specific functions.

Before you start

  • The module must be installed and powered correctly.
  • The LED must indicate that the device is ready for pairing.
  • The smartphone must be connected to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network.
  • Enable Bluetooth and location services.
  • Temporarily disable any VPN.
  • Keep the Matter QR code printed on the product or on the label inside the box handy.

Pair a new or newly reset module

  1. Open Freedompro Home and tap Add module.
  2. Select Smart Modules.
  3. When asked about previous pairing, choose No, it's new.
  4. Check that the LED is in the pairing mode indicated by the app.
  5. Scan the QR code.
  6. Wait for the procedure to complete.
  7. Configure the accessories immediately or postpone configuration.

Reset module: After a reset, always select No, it's new, even if the device was used previously.

Add to Freedompro Home a module already paired elsewhere

  1. Open Freedompro Home and tap Add module.
  2. Select Smart Modules.
  3. Choose Yes, it's already paired.
  4. Wait for the network scan and select the detected module.
  5. Scan the product QR code.
  6. Follow the guided procedure.

Complete Matter sharing

  1. In the app already controlling the module, open the device settings.
  2. Generate a new temporary Matter pairing code.
  3. Return to Freedompro Home.
  4. Tap the option to enter the generated code.
  5. Paste the code and complete the procedure.

If the module is not found

  • Check that the phone is using the same local network as the module.
  • Make sure the 2.4 GHz network is available.
  • Disable VPN and client isolation on guest networks.
  • Check the status LED.
  • If necessary, remove the module from previous apps and reset it before trying again.

Expected result

The module will be visible in Freedompro Home and you will be able to configure each channel before adding it to other Matter ecosystems.
