How to configure a module for dry contacts

Configure the name, physical control, post-blackout state and auto-off settings of Freedompro modules for gates and dry contacts.

After pairing, configure each dry contact channel to suit the connected device, such as a gate, garage door, lock, pump, or irrigation system.

How to open the settings

  1. Open Freedompro Home.
  2. From the home screen, tap the menu in the top left.
  3. Select Module settings.
  4. Choose the module to configure.
  5. On multi-channel models, select one accessory at a time.

Available settings

  • Name: use a clear name, for example Pedestrian gate or Garage door.
  • Physical control type: select button or switch according to the actual wiring.
  • State after a power outage: choose the expected behavior when power returns.
  • Auto Off: set a short pulse when the connected device requires a timed contact closure.

How to save

  1. Check the selected settings.
  2. Tap Done in the top right.
  3. Repeat the procedure for the other module channels.
  4. Test control from the app and from the physical button or switch.

Important notes

  • For gates and garages, Auto Off is usually preferable to a maintained contact, but the correct value depends on the connected control unit.
  • Always check the external device manual to see whether the input requires a pulse and which duration is allowed.
  • On multi-channel modules, configure one accessory at a time.

If the behavior is not correct

  • Make sure you selected the correct channel.
  • Check the configured physical control type.
  • Check the wiring against the model diagram.
  • Restart the module without resetting it and test again.
  • Reset only after ruling out configuration and wiring errors.

Expected result

The module will respond consistently from the app and the physical control, keeping the settings defined for each channel.

Auto Off

Auto Off is available for lights, outlets, and dry contacts. It is disabled by default.
