How to configure and calibrate a roller shutter module

Configure buttons, direction and automatic or manual calibration of Freedompro modules for electric roller shutters.

After pairing, configure each shutter in the Freedompro Home app. Calibration is required to correctly estimate position, opening, and closing, and must be completed before adding the module to other ecosystems.

How to open the settings

  1. Open Freedompro Home.
  2. Tap the menu in the top left.
  3. Select Module settings.
  4. Choose the shutter module.
  5. On multi-channel models, select one shutter at a time.

Available settings

  • Name: assign a name linked to the room or window.
  • Physical control type: choose button or a control compatible with the wiring.
  • Calibration: measures opening and closing times.
  • Invert wall controls: corrects physical controls if up and down are swapped.
  • Invert direction: corrects the movement shown in the app when opening and closing are reversed.

Automatic calibration

  1. Make sure the shutter can move freely across its full travel.
  2. Start automatic calibration.
  3. Do not use the physical controls during the procedure.
  4. Wait for the opening and closing movements to complete.
  5. Test intermediate positions from the app.

Manual calibration

  1. Measure the full opening time.
  2. Measure the full closing time.
  3. Enter the values in the required fields.
  4. Save and verify the position percentages.

Safety: Before calibration, check that there are no obstacles and that the motorized system is installed and protected according to the applicable regulations.

If the position is not accurate

  • Repeat the calibration with the shutter free of obstacles.
  • Check that the motor actually completes its travel.
  • Verify that up and down are not reversed.
  • Check the configured button type.
  • On multi-channel modules, repeat calibration for each shutter.

Cyclic mode for shutters

Cyclic mode lets you manage the shutter with a single physical control.

Mode Sequence
Shutter Up → Stop → Down → Stop

The point in the sequence from which the command starts depends on the current state and motion of the shutter. When the shutter is already at the end stop, the firmware skips an unnecessary Stop.

Disabled input

By selecting None, the physical input is disabled and does not generate movement.

Expected result

The app will correctly show opening, closing, and intermediate position, while the physical controls will continue to work according to the selected configuration.
