How to connect Easykon to Home Assistant

Integrate Easykon into Home Assistant using a Freedompro API key or a HomeKit device and avoid duplicate devices.

Easykon can be integrated into Home Assistant in two ways: through the Freedompro integration with an API key or, when available for the model and configuration, through the HomeKit connection. Choose only one initial method to avoid duplicate devices.

Before you start

  • Easykon must be installed, online, and already added to Freedompro Home.
  • Home Assistant must be up to date.
  • For the Freedompro integration, you must generate an API key from the app.
  • Your phone, Home Assistant, and Easykon must be able to communicate on the intended network.

Method 1: Freedompro integration

This method uses the Freedompro account and makes paired accessories available in Home Assistant.

  1. In Freedompro Home, generate an API key from the profile.
  2. Open Home Assistant.
  3. Go to Settings > Devices & Services.
  4. Tap Add Integration.
  5. Search for Freedompro.
  6. Enter the API key and confirm.
  7. Wait for the devices to be created and assign the areas.

Method 2: HomeKit device

Use this method only if Easykon has not already been added to another HomeKit controller that is incompatible with the intended sharing setup.

  1. Open Home Assistant.
  2. Go to Settings > Devices & Services.
  3. Tap Add Integration.
  4. Search for l’integrazione per i dispositivi HomeKit.
  5. Select Easykon from the list of detected devices.
  6. Enter the required code and complete the configuration.

If you see duplicate devices

  • Check whether you configured both the Freedompro integration and HomeKit at the same time.
  • Choose the most suitable method and remove the other integration only after verifying entities and automations.
  • Do not remove configurations before checking the Home Assistant automations that use them.

Expected result

Accessories managed by Easykon will be available in Home Assistant. Names, categories, and functions depend on the mapping configured in Easykon and on the chosen integration method.
