How to generate an API key in Freedompro Home

Find out how to create and protect an API key in the Freedompro Home app to connect services and external integrations.

The API key lets you connect authorized third-party services or applications to your Freedompro account. Generate it only when an integration requires it and treat it as a confidential credential.

Before you start

  • Update the Freedompro Home app to the latest available version.
  • Sign in with the home owner account.
  • Check which service will use the key and what data it will be allowed to access.

How to generate the API key

  1. Open the Freedompro Home app.
  2. Tap the menu in the top left.
  3. Open My Profile.
  4. Select API Key.
  5. Tap Generate.
  6. Copy the key and paste it only into the service you want to authorize.

How to store it securely

  • Do not send it through public chats or unsecured email.
  • Do not place it in web pages, repositories, or publicly visible code.
  • If you think it has been exposed, revoke it and generate a new one.

Expected result

The third-party service can authenticate using the generated key. If the integration does not work, make sure you copied the full key without extra spaces.
