Over the past few weeks, we’ve been exploring the various ways to automate home devices using Freedompro’s Smart Modules range: curtains and shutters, lighting, and even power sockets. But that’s not all! Among the major new additions to the Smart Modules range are the Dry Contact Modules, which allow you to automate devices using pulses or dry contacts. More specifically, these are smart, professional actuators connected via Wi-Fi, designed to make all those devices that respond to simple on/off pulses smart.

With Dry Contact Modules, home comfort reaches a whole new level
Imagine yourself in your house, curled up on the sofa on a rainy autumn evening. The temperature drops suddenly, and even the blanket you’ve wrapped yourself in isn’t enough to keep you warm. And the thought of getting up to go to the boiler seems like an impossible task.
With a Dry Contact Module connected to your home boiler, the problem is solved with a single tap, because you can switch it on and control it directly from your smartphone without having to physically reach the device.
Let’s take another example. Have you ever been enjoying an early afternoon nap only to be woken by the incessant ringing of the video intercom? Usually, it’s the courier delivering something or – alternatively – the building’s caretaker letting you know a parcel has arrived. Being torn from a sound sleep is a struggle for everyone, as is rushing, still half-asleep, to the intercom before it stops ringing.
Once again, you can solve this with a Dry Contact Module installed directly behind the handset of your video intercom, as it will allow you to control the device directly from your smartphone, with maximum convenience.
These are just two of the many examples of how this super-versatile solution—part of Freedompro’s Smart Modules—can be applied.
